As a Finisher at Bednark Studio, you will be a member of a highly-collaborative team of artists from diverse backgrounds. You will be expected to contribute to a variety of projects in both Scenic and Millwork capacities.

You should have at least an intermediate level of proficiency in patching/seaming/skim coating walls, rolling and/or brushing paint, faux finishing, and HVLP spraying.

We are looking for someone who can work efficiently with others and/or independently, and the right candidate will be comfortable both taking initiative and serving in a support role.

Your Opportunity:

Participate in the Finishing of both Scenic and Millwork pieces in all steps of the process from prep to final finish application.
Maintain a working knowledge of all Finishing tools, including but not limited to: HVLP sprayers, airless sprayers, orbital and pneumatic sanders, polishing wheels, and various other faux finishing tools.
Mix paint and match custom colors as needed.
Apply faux finishing techniques according to the direction of the Lead Scenic/Finisher or Finishing Manager.
Assist with sanding, patching, priming, and preparation of high-quality Millwork finishes, e.g. hardwood, veneer, MDF, metal, plastics, etc.
Travel onsite when needed for touch-up calls or onsite Finishing work.
Maintain a positive attitude and collaborative spirit in a dynamic work environment.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with peers and supervisors.
Work quickly and efficiently with respect for deadlines.

Requirements:

3+ years of related Scenic, Millwork Finishing, or Painting experience.
Visual examples of previous work.
Proficiency in patching, seaming, sanding, painting with brushes and rollers, and HVLP spraying.
Working knowledge of carpentry techniques.
Willingness to work extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines.
Ability to use ladders and meet the rigors of a physically demanding job.
